Growing old - What did you Say?

I love living here in The Home!  We are such an amazing community.

We get together for coffee, Happy Hour/Trivia, bingo, card games and Rousing Mexican Train.  These are all fun times, and because many of us are losing our hearing, the FUN is just amplified.  No pun intended. I would like to share some of our FUNNY Moments.

Happy Hour Trivia is one of the funniest times.

Together, we have -- Deafness, soft speakers, southern accents, northern accents, failing eyesight....

So someone reads the card and it has to be repeated 3 times before everyone gets it.  Of course, while it is being repeated three times, the laughter starts and the deaf ones are hindered further.  Then the ones who can hear, know the answer and they speak it out before everyone even knows the question.

Garry speaks softly.  His question was "What is written on  a 44 inch piece of basalt.........

We all heard "asphalt" and we all started laughing ---  it went out of control - more laughter begot more laughter.  I don't know why we all thought it was so funny but laughter is contagious for sure.  When we finally got a grip on ourselves and Garry was ready to pull another card so we could get on with the game.  We all were adamant to know the answer.

The Answer: The Rosetta Stone is written on large piece of carved basalt .

It my lose a lot in print -- but it was one of the "Best Laughs" any of us had experienced and a long time.   Making crazy memories.

I am going to bring hand sanitizer....  Patti heard that I was going to bring 10 Avocados.

Betty needed some pants hemmed.  When Dr. Paul came in, she immediately asked him if he was still doing any sewing.  He had done lots of sewing in the past.   Dr. Paul's response to Betty was: "I am not practicing medicine anymore so I can't write prescriptions."

October 28th 2021 -- The wind has been really strong this week.  We have several ladies here in our building who are tiny ---  These winds have been dangerous.  Thankful for some of the nice guys who help them make it from their cars to the back door without being blown away.    This is such a sweet community.

Ruth is living in another home nearby as she needed more help.  Recently she was telling me about the sister of a guy in her community.  She said she was helpful to her brother but she is not quite right in the head, but she is a Nurse.
